Description

The area of Pearl Lagoon offers some superb fishing possibilities, combining big game fishing on the open ocean with two other possibilities: inland rivers and brackish water of the coastal lagoon, all within the same area. All of these fishing sites offer a different setting, making Pearl Lagoon a very attractive destination for sport-fishing.

At all of the three sites spectacular fish can be caught. The rivers and the lagoon house mostly the same fish, offering catfish, tarpon, drummer, snook, and jackfish. Out in the Caribbean Sea, barracuda, bonefish, tarpon, kingfish, yellowtail, grunt, red snapper, permit, and jackfish can be caught.

Fishing is generally done using own equipment (there are not many organizations that offer fishing tours, and even less that have equipment for rent), generally trolling natural or artificial bait.

Prices for a fishing trip are around $115 for half a day or $220 for a full day trip. These prices include boat rental, gasoline, and a skipper. Often the boats can hold up to ten people, but for real sport fishing groups should not be larger than 3 people. It is also possible to arrange fishing-packages, including several days of fishing at discounted rates. Fishing trips can be arranged in the town of Pearl Lagoon.
