Can I drive to San Dionisio with a 2 wheel drive Mini, like the Suzuki? Are the roads from San Ramon to San Dionisio paved or good gravel?

Description

The San Fernando Island (the third largest island of the Solentiname Archipelago) is home to a community of primitive painters and artisans. Visitors can visit the artists’ homes and observe these creative processes. At the same time, these visits can be used to buy art directly from the artists.

In front of the principal dock lies the village of San Fernando. The artists live throughout the village, and they exhibit and sell their pieces at the same place where they live. Other houses are inhabited by the painters of the village, and these people can also be found with an exhibition of their pieces in their house (which can also be bought here). With some luck, the artists are working on a painting or handicraft, and visitors can watch them working.

The Cultural Center of San Fernando is also located close to the dock. This is a communal site where pieces and paintings from many different artists are exhibited. The small, simple building has a room with primitive paintings from San Fernando Island and from La Venada Island, where other well-known, local painters live. There is also a room with artisans from San Fernando and from Mancarrón Island.

The artists can be visited to buy art or to observe the work at their own houses throughout the day, all week long. The Cultural Center is open daily from 8 AM until noon, and from 2 PM until 5 PM.
