Cabanas across the street from Playa El Coco, Nicaragua. The cheapest place around with A/C.

Having travelled to many beaches in the world Playa El Coco beach in my estimation is by far rated to the top three. No undertow or rips, up to a two metre break, and sand that extends way out into the he deep blue, providing a very safe swimming environment. Coco is said to be the most beautiful and accessible beach in all of Nicaragua's Pacific ocean side.

Description

Its waters are calm and the beach is not crowded, making it the perfect place to visit and relax. Its shape is elongated, but like other beaches in the area, it has rock formations and vegetation.

Excursions on horseback or bicycle to nearby villages, soccer and beach volleyball, and dinghy rides to Isla Bolaños are managed by the staff of the Marine Park.

Lodging options are available in just one place, where there is also a restaurant. The remaining lands are private, although very few are built. At the right end of the beach is a small well-stocked mini-super, which caters to all visitors.

Getting There

Private transportation: You must go to San Juan del Sur and, before reaching the entrance of the town, take a dirt road that leads to "El Ostional". It takes about 20 minutes to get there.

Public transportation: Buses can be found at the municipal market of San Juan del Sur. Have in mind that the journey will be longer because of the multiple stops. You should take the bus that will leave you at El Ostional. If you want to get there quicker, you can also negotiate an affordable rate with the taxis of the town, which are always in the market.

The beginning of the road is in good conditions but the rest of if is unpaved.
