Description
Lots of cigar plantations and factories can be found in and around Estelí. The Nicaraguan cigars from this region are high quality and sold in the U.S. and Europe. The Nicaraguans are rightfully proud of it. There are a couple cigar factories where you as a tourist can walk around and see how things are done.
Estelí Cigarros is one o fthe cigar factories that can be visited, just ten minutes away from the center lie the fields and the factory, where thin, thick, strong, mild, dark, and light Cuban-quality cigars are produced. By just walking in you will easily find somebody who will informally show you around and tell you about the cigars, free of charge.
You can see how the tobacco plants grow and how they are harvested (if you're there in the right season). In an office on the same lot you can see men and women selecting, cutting, rolling, ordering, and packing the cigars.
You will also have the opportunity to buy some of the hand-made cigars, so be sure to bring a couple home to please cigar smoking friends or to just reward the company for their open-house policy.
Getting There
Estelí Cigarros is located a bit north of Estelí, on the Pan American highway. At about Km. 155 you will see a bar called El Rancho de Pancho on your right hand. Estelí Cigarros is right next to it.

Good Morning, I noticed something in a video I recently watched on You Tube. In the video it showed a young lady rolling cigars at a Nicaraguan Cigar factory. On her table she had a paste dispenser that looked very - very interesting. It is white, plastic and it looks like a great idea. The paste dispenser is totally enclosed thereby keeping the paste free of contamination.
I have been rolling cigars at home for 10 years now. I have encountered the problem of bits of tobacco and other stuff falling into my paste. By using the paste dispenser you use at your factory, the paste stays free of nasty things you would not want in the paste.
My question is where can I buy that exact paste dispenser? Can anyone give me a contact, email or phone so I can purchase one of the dispensers. I've heard their made in Nicaragua. I really want to purchase one of the dispensers and would really appreciate any help in this matter.

I've traveled to Nica many, many times since 1978. I always go to Esteli for my Cigars. Kiki is one of my favorites. I've heard that Pedro Ramos has a cigar factory down there now. He's an older 15 yr MLB pitcher w/ great folklore. You must meet him and listen to his stories of Baseball Glory Years. Ask him how far did The Mick hit that pitch he tried to get by him? What a story.
