A diverse ballet show will take place today, July 9, at the Ruben Dario National Theater, during the Eighth Classic Ballet International Gala. This year, groups from Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, in addition to two Nicaraguan groups, will participate on the event.

The gala is a co-production between the Nicaraguan Ballet Company and the Ruben Dario National Theater, and it's been held annually since its first edition. During the press conference given to the national media, Ramon Mejia, Director of the national theater, thanked all the international artists for attending the call and the Cuban National Ballet for advising them. He also stated that Nicaragua becomes a reference to the ballet of the region during the dates of the event.

The main performance will take place today at the Ruben Dario National Theater, at 7:00 pm. The prices are affordable: C$150 first balcony, C$100 second balcony and C$50 the third. There will be eight choreographies of classic, neoclassic and modern ballet.

William Herrera, Director of the Nicaraguan Ballet Company and main organizer of the event, stated that the event was created to strengthen and promote art in the country. This has grown so much to the point that Central American colleagues are always aware of it. Herrera thanked the institutions and companies making the event possible. Nicaragua will be represented by 25 dancers from two groups.

In addition to the performances, the gala will also include classes for the participants. "Techniques and styles will be shared," assured William, who also announced more presentations in Masaya, Chinandega and possibly Matagalpa during August.
