A select group of professional Ukrainian dancers, members of the Star Kiev Ballet, will perform with a classic ballet show at the Ruben Dario National Theater . The event will be held today, August 26 and tomorrow, August 27, at 8:00 pm. The program is part of a Latin American tour that features national pieces of their Ukraine and classic pieces like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Don Quixote.

This is the group's first visit to Nicaragua. "Our country is as pretty as yours; our theater has a lot of classic art and we hope you enjoy our program," said the Ukrainian Varvara Potapova, director of the Star Kiev Ballet, during a press conference given in Managua. The group has also visited Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile and Costa Rica with this tour. After the two shows in Nicaragua, they will perform in Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama and Colombia.

The Star Kiev's cast is constituted by 20 solo dancers, who were chosen out of the stars of the KIev National Ballet. There are international award winners among them, such as Anna Dorosh and Alexander Stoianov, and renowned as Karina Shatkovska and Anatoliy Kazatskiy.

The show is composed by two parts. In the first one, the group will perform with the third act of Don Quixote, by Alexander Gorsky (about 50 minutes) and during the second, classic pieces like The Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Spartacus and The Dying Swan will be executed (more than an hour). The prices for this show are: US$35 main stage and first balcony, US$25 second balcony and US$15 the third.
