The Montibelli Private Natural Reserve organizes a Butterfly Festival on Sunday, July 30. This event will be open for the public and visitors can enjoy some of the over 90 different butterfly species, varying in color, size, and shape.

This is the first of three butterfly fairs that will take place in the reserve this year (2006). The activity includes the participation of the entomologist Jean Michel Maes, director of the Entomological Museum in León, who will explain the life cycle of the different butterfly species, and he will also talk about some other insect species that can be found at Montibelli. Visitors can furthermore hike some of the trails that cross the reserve and enjoy the flora and fauna present and preserved at this site.

Entrance to this event costs C$240 for adults and C$170 for kids. This price already includes trail hikes, lunch, and the presentation of Jean Michel Maes. The Montibelli reserve can be found at kilometer 19 of the road between Ticuantepe and La Concha. For more information, call 270 4287.
