People celebrated Palm Sunday with religious fervor and tradition.

Hundreds of Nindiriseños celebrated with deep religious fervor the historical and biblical entrance of Jesus riding a donkey. On March 24, at 8 AM, the catholic faithful gathered for the palms blessing at El Calvario Church atrium in this city of the department of Masaya.

During the pilgrimage, the parishioners wig wag the traditional palms as a salute until they reached the Santa Ana Church of Nindirí. In this church, the priest Jesús Silva celebrated the mass known as “Palm Sunday” or the Messianic entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem.

On this special date, the priest addressed to the catholic faithful with these words: “This is a current and alive event, because the love of God is renewed every day on us and with the same feeling of joy we will walk beside Christ. Let joy fill our hearts”

By night, the traditional procession began in the main streets of Nindirí and ended at the parish hall where the parishioners stayed in vigil.
