The October turtle arrival has started at La Flor. Yesterday night, over 13,000 turtles arrived at this Pacific beach to lay eggs. Such an event, called an arribada, occurs during certain periods in the year.

The Cocibolca Foundation, the organization managing the reserve, reports that this massive turtle arrival is expected to continue throughout the week. In the weekend (October 14-15) the number of turtles will diminish. The road condition is fair (there has been little rain) and the beach can currently be reached without problems in a high-clearance vehicle.

For an almost guaranteed turtle sighting, be sure to visit the La Flor beach during this week. For more information, see the link below or contact the Cocibolca Foundation.
