Fete de la Musique 2013 in Nicaragua

Artists and amateurs will share scenarios in the 2013 edition of this international celebration.

Authorities of the French Embassy, Alliance Francaise and the Ruben Dario National Theater presented today at the press conference the Music Festival 2013, to be held from June 15th until June 21st. As part of this activity there will be free concerts at the cities of Matagalpa, León and Managua.

The Music Festival was created by Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture of France, and the first edition was on June 21st, 1982. This music festival well known for the voluntary participation of amateur and professional musicians. In Nicaragua, the celebration takes the French concept of the festival, mixed with a Nicaraguan presentations

Among the groups that will be performing are:

  • Mario Gutiérrez
  • Coro Emanuel
  • Nieves

It is worth mentioning that each department has prepared a concert with various artists. For concert dates and groups that will be performing visit our events calendar.

For the French ambassador in Nicaragua, Antoine Joly, this event represents the bonds of partnership between the two countries. He also noted that there are currently 110 countries in the world celebrating music festivals, taking the French example, since music is our common language. Joly hopes that people can share this festival next week.

For his part, Ramón Rodríguez, Ruben Dario National Theater Director, said that everything is ready and will be refined and polishing this activity, so that the next year more cities can be included in the program and it can reach more families in Nicaragua, as this is done without any profit, since artists participation is completely voluntary.

The goal of this activity is that music can be shared and to create an exchange between amateurs and professionals, because the objective is to provide the public with many free events, so they can attend without complications; shared Mélanie Bouchard, French Alliance Director.

Managua: French Alliance. Saturday, June 15th at 11:00 am, free entrance.
Matagalpa: Héroes y Mártires Cultural Center. Wednesday, June 19th at 7:00 pm, free entrance.
Managua: Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío de Managua. Jueves 20 de Junio a las 7:00 pm, valor: C$30.
León: French Alliance Friday, June 21st at 7:00 pm, free entrance.
