Opera: Tribute to Pavarotti at the National Theater

Italian soloists from Puccini Festival and central american artists will present a grand concert.

Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti (1935 - 2007), whose voice and interpretations reached worldwide fame, will be honored in the Ruben Dario National Theater through an opera concert with the participation of prominent soloists from Italy, Nicaraguan and musicians from Central America. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 20th at the Main Hall.

The tribute will be led by the renowned director Valerio Galli, and will involve three Italian soloists from the Puccini Festival, an annual opera event in Italy of great importance in the world. Also three soloists from the Lyric Nicaragua Group will sing: Alberto San Jose, Elisa Picado and Laureano Ortega. The orchestral accompaniment will be led by Camerata Bach, with musicians from Guatemala and El Salvador.

Tickets are already available at the National Theatre, in Managua. The costs are: C$200 for platea and first balcony, C$150 for second balcony and C$120 for third balcony.

Among the repertoire, the audience will hear music that was sung by Pavarotti, including:

  • Canciones de La Traviata
  • Caruso
  • O sole mio,
  • Volare
  • La donna e mobile
  • Granada
  • Pearl fisher duet
  • Nessun dorma
