Description
The atmosphere of Hospedaje La Siesta is very open and comfortable, encouraging cordiality and friendship between guests, staff and the two friendly owners: Boris and Marcela. The hotel is located a couple blocks from the central park, close to many interesting attractions in the historical center of the city of Granada.
The rooms are comfortable and have a personalized attention. Guests can enjoy the patio and the traditional ranch in the center. The kitchen can be used by guests for a voluntary fee. Coffee, tea and purified water are always available in this area. For breakfast, ask for the delicious French crepes, a specialty of the house.
La Siesta also offers Spanish and French classes (packages available), free wireless Internet and the possibility to organize tours. There is also a lot of tourist information available about Granada and Nicaragua. Laundry services are available as well as national phone calls. Another service is free luggage (with no additional charge) for those who want to travel around the country.
Currencies accepted at La Siesta include not only cordobas and dollars, but also euros. New installations were recently made that will prevent blackouts and a water tank is present in case of shortages.
Close to the hotel, guests can find the bus terminal for Masaya and Costa Rica, as well as a pharmacy, a grocery store, parking at the Fire Station, international phone call center and internet café.

Every summer I travel to Nicaragua to work, play and travel. I go to have the true Nicaraguan experience. I wish to know the people and the culture. I discovered La Siesta five years ago and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Granada. I have the comforts of a clean and comfortable bed and the company of people who truly love Granada and Nicaragua, Boris and Marcela. Marcela and I always have many things to discuss about the social projects that we are involved in through volunteer efforts. Marcela’s passion for Nicaragua is born into her as she is a true Nicaraguense. I have adopted the country. Both Marcela and Boris are always available to help me with my Spanish, to give me ideas where to visit and to give advice about the culture and the people that they love so dearly. Their staff has always been the most friendly and ready to assist of anywhere I have visited. La Siesta truly feels like a visit with family friends.
Additionally, I have always loved meeting people from around the world, and La Siesta has guests from many different places. But, one thing I love the most about La Siesta is that the traveling Nicaraguenses also choose this lovely place to stay when passing through Granada or staying for an extended visit. It is a place with a true Nica essence and a global heart!

Ingrid & Farid

We give our highest recommendation to La Siesta! in Granada, Nicaragua. A great value, very clean, family-friendly run by a lovely couple who very clearly have a passion for service and offer the highest level of true hospitality I have ever encountered in my worldwide travels. Its location on a quiet street a few blocks from the central city is restful and safe. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in January 2010. We arrived much later in the night than expected yet Boris and Marcela had waited up for us. At first, we were told we would have to move rooms the last night, but they managed to arrange for us to keep our same clean, comfortable room, with private shower, all 4 nights. We woke each morning to the sounds of gentle people speaking several different languages while working their Wi-fi gadgets, children giggling, and wonderful breakfasts cooking. We will always remember Granada fondly because of our warm welcome to Nicaragua at La Siesta!

I´ve spent some days in this great hostel.
Well furnisched and nicely clean.
The owners Boris and Sandra are absolutely wonderful and eager to share helpful information to discover the region. The patio is very sociable and I loved every minute of my stay.

We spent all together four nights at la Siesta and we can highly recommend the place! The rooms and the whole environment were very beautiful and tidy. But the best at this place are definately the great owners, Boris and Marcela together with little miss sunshine Triana. If you are looking for a place to stay in Granada only a few blocks away from the center with great ambiance and clean rooms, la Siesta is definately the place to stay.
Merci beaucoup Boris et Marcela, nous gardons un trés bonne souvenir de la vistite a la Siesta et Granada!

We had a wonderful experience at La Siesta, one that we will never forget. It was our first time in Nicaragua and our first stop. Boris, Marcela and their staff made us feel very much at home, very comfortable and welcomed. I think our experience of Nica would have been very different if we hadn´t had an immersion into the lives of people who live there because they love it. I took Spanish lessons from Marcela and we always went over time because we had so much fun! Well, at least I did! La Siesta is within walking distance of the center of town, but far enough away for it to be quiet and pleasant. The rooms are simple and very clean. The coffee is great as is the early morning conversation and information that they so gladly share. Numerous times both Boris and Marcela went out of their way to make arrangements for us so we could have an even better experience in Granada. I always felt safe and well taken care of by all of the people they recommended to help us. La Siesta is not for you if you´re looking for a big backpacking party scene...there´s plenty of dorm style hostels in Granada specializing in that. If you´re looking for something more intimate and low key, I would highly recommend La Siesta. Plus, you can´t beat the price for the quality. It is by far the best value of any place we have stayed. Muchas gracias amigos!

Bonne continuation !

A very nice place, clean rooms. Boris & Marcela are wonderful.
They will give you a ton of useful information about the city, the area, the country...
If you want they can also teach you spanish or french at a very inexpensive price ($5 / hour)
It's almost like to be at home !!!
I strongly recommend this address

Boris and Marcela are the best hosts. Anyone wishing to visit Granada and have a relaxing, comfortable, and inexpensive place to stay should stay at La Siesta. In addition, they are both experienced Spanish teachers and take their jobs as both hosts and teachers very seriously while never forgetting to make you feel at home. I've visited Granada several times and always stayed at La Siesta. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

I stayed at La Siesta with Boris and Marcela for 2 weeks in March 2006 and found the experience delightful. They are gracious hosts and also excellent language teachers. They are very generous with their time and willing to share their knowledge of the country. I highly recommend La Siesta for a memorable travel experience.

This little hospedaje is probably one of the best in Granada. The rooms are nice and it is very useful to have access to the kitchen. Moreover, Marcela and Boris are FANTASTIC and they give a lot of information about the region. You feel more like living with friends than living in a hostel...
