I spent a great couple of days here with some friends a few months ago. Everything about our experience in San Juan del Sur was amazing, and having the Park Avenue Villas as a home base was a crucial part of that experience. Ralph and Renda were amazingly hospitable, very accommodating, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. When we decided to go on a canopy tour and to take a day trip to Playa Hermosa, both of which were incredible, they were there to help us make the necessary arrangements. When scheduling conflicts made it impossible to sail with Ralph and his scouts on the "No Bad Days," Ralph went out of his way, on one day's notice, to have a friend take us sailing anyway. All these experiences combined with amenities such as a full kitchen and a/c in each room as well as its phenomenal location made for a truly remarkable and wonderful experience.

We enjoyed the stay in San Juan better this trip because of the great hotel we stayed at. The beaches and restaurants were good as they were on our last trip. The difference was the relaxing and friendly hotel . It allowed us to get away from the hussle within minutes and have some quiet time . Very close to the action so we got the best of both. The staff and owners made us feel very welcome and i trecomend this hotel when in San Juan del sur.

My husband and I spent time at Park Avenue Villas
in January, 2011. It's great - beautiful view of the bay from the second floor common area, a short walk from wonderful restaurants, and Renda and Ralph are terrific hosts. Be sure to ask Ralph about a trip with he and his Sea Scouts on "No Bad Days" sailboat.
We absolutely loved San Juan del Sur and our reservations are made for January 2012 at the Park Avenue Villas. The only thing we are doing different in 2012 is we are staying longer.

My husband and I have been lucky to have spent two great vacations with Ralph and Renda. PAV has the best location and staff in town. Can't say enough about how clean the hotel is and the pride the employees feel in working there. It is like a family. Ralph's Sea Scouts and the sailing trip out on "No Bad Days" was the high light of our first trip. The hotel location is perfect, close enough to walk to everything in town but still quiet. The town of SJdS is great, plenty of restaurants and lots to do in the area. If you need any info just ask. The Hewitt's know everything going on and where to find anything in question. One of the most beautiful sunsets can be found at the second floor lounge area. Pool was clean and refreshing. It's amazing what Ralph and Renda have done to give back to the local community from the park for the kids, to helping to bring in the USS Comfort hospital ship to provide medical help for the locals. The Hewitt's don't give lip service to the local community, they do. Thank you for being such an inspiration Ralph and Renda! Can't wait to get back down and to make our move down in a couple more years.

We love PAV. Whenever we go to SJDS (we've been going there for years) we stay with Ralph and Renda. Not only are Ralph and Renda the perfect hosts , they also have a talented and friendly staff who will do anything to help make your stay more enjoyable. By the way, it's great to sit out on the deck at sunset with the other guests as the sun goes down. The view is the best in town. By the way, make sure to go on a sailing adventure with Ralph and the seascouts, it will be a highlight of your trip.

A group of us came down with CBS last summer in July for a three day stay with Ralph and Renda at their Park Avenue Villas. We were treated to luxury, absolute honest hospitality and terrific sunsets and swimming. One morning I walked to the local markets and purchased some fruit and checked out the town. Folks were kind and helpful and this countryboy felt right at home. The Hewitt's are involved with the local community and understand the governmental process needed to get things done. They give back more than they take which makes the local native Nicararguans respectfull of them. This added level of peace and understanding is unique and one I want to experience again, and soon. You will love this place and it will hook you into coming back. GodSpeed Ralph and Renda!

Can't think of a better place to stay in SJDS. We have been there twice and would love to get back. The location is great. You are close to everything but not right in the middle of the night life.
The sunset view from the balcony is spectacular.
Ralph and Rhenda are wonderful hosts and you are sure to meet many interesting guests as well.
A great experience is going sailing with Ralph and his crew of local boy scouts on "No Bad Days".

I cannot say enough great things about the Park Avenue Villas! As a group of students in our mid-twenties traveling on spring break, this location was the perfect place for us -- incredibly safe and clean with a great kitchen, close to the beach and many bars/restaurants, a pool to cool off in after a long hot day of exploring, air conditioning, a nice large patio to watch the beautiful sunset from, and really wonderful fun owners who go out of their way to make sure that you have the best time possible in San Juan del Sur. Ralph and Renda were able to provide us with great advice about places to go to dinner, go out at night, grab groceries, and even arranged great ziplining and sailing tours for us. The property was even better than we'd imagined and we will all definitely be recommending it to friends!

My wife and I honeymooned there back in June of 2009. I have been to many different coastal regions during my 20 years with the U.S. Navy and this by far was the nicest, cleanest, and friendliest place that I have ever been. Cannot wait to get back there again and enjoy the great service and the clean rooms of this hotel.

If this is your first trip to Nicaragua, You couldn't do any better than reserving an Adelente Express and having them deliver you to Ralph and Rhenda's place for 3 or 4 nights. You can read all sorts of reviews of different hotels in the area but the bottom line is this is the best location and a perfect base to explore San Juan Del Sur. What you may not realize, is that this area has a lot of hills and discos that play loud music into the wee hours of the morning. Park Ave Villas is close enough to the beach for easy access to the beach, stores, bars, restaurants, etc. But far enough from the discos that you can enjoy some peace and quiet and magnificent views. These people are wonderful hosts. They are kind to the locals and friendly to the guests. Always offering to make suggestions, give advice or make arrangements. This place also offers the security of well a built property with a night watchman. You won't find any electric shower heads in this place. I'm sure this place would pass the most stringent building codes in the U.S. If your lucky, you might have the opportunity to go sailing on the "No Bad Days" with Ralph and the Sea Scouts which he founded.

My family, including my wife and our 11 yr old son visited this fine establishment during August 2008. It was like an oasis - a shining star among dim lights. OK - maybe that sounds a bit melodramatic. But is true, so many hotels seem to have something not quite right - could be too expensive, or no air conditioning, or sub-standard electrical (read "electrical shock"!!) or something else. But this place was perfect, the price was right and the room was perfect! Ralph and Renda, the owners, made our one week stay very enjoyable. Try this hotel and you won't be disappointed.

I stayed here for 3 weeks back in December. It is definitely the nicest option in town and deals are great if you stay long term. The sunsets are phenomonal. The staff and owners are friendly and wonderful. I strongly recommend it.
