I stayed at hotel las americas in 1969. My husband was a geologist with Nicaraguan geologists. We enjoyed the beautiful town and cathedral bells. Did the earthquake affect your hotel as it is one floor it seems and we stayed on 2nd floor. We wish to return some day soon.
    Felicidades, Vanja

I've been in Hotel America before, and its more like a Bed & Breakfast kind of place. I loved it. The owners are very nice and friendly, they make you feel welcome and relaxed. I am planning to go there again this summer.

As a Nicaraguan and born in Leon, I LOVE hotel America. It's been an icon in Leon since way back. The family who owns the hotel is wonderful and very sweet and friendly, they give you a lot of privacy and are not invasive at all. This hotel is full of history, it's where all the baseball players, american player stayed during the baseball season. I refuse to stay anywhere else, period.

I stayed here for 5 days in May, 08. The family that runs the hotel was very kind. The rooms are bare and provide the basics. But, it is a good place to stay on a very tight budget.

I was able to stay at Hotel America during March 2009. The hotel was definitely clean and had a lot of plants. The family that runs the hotel was very hospitable and friendly. Hotel America doesn't really feel like your actually staying in a hotel, but more like with family.

I will be arriving in Leon tonight and will be looing for a room. I will not be able to check my email again until tomorrow but I will most likely be passing by your hotel in search of a room some time tonight unless something else happens. Your place was recommeded to me by Rolando Estrada. Thank you! Brenda

The place is basically for people who are traveling on a tight budget. But the people that work there are very friendly and also very informative, especially if you are new to Leon.
The owner Doña Jazmina, will always greet you with a smile.
