Description
El Jaguar is an ecological project, situated within the reserve of the same name, located 188 Km North of the city of Managua. Due to its geographical position, visitors can observe 284 species of birds, a great quantity of orchids, mammals, bromeliads and butterflies that live in the area.
The hotel provides two options for tourists: cabins and a biological station. The first option, which is situated in an elevated zone of the reserve, is divided into six apartments with a capacity of 21 people. All of them have a living room, private bathroom with hot water, solar power and terrace. On the other hand, the station was designed for students and researchers, it has three rooms with bunk beds and shared bathrooms with hot water.
The owners of the reserve, Lili Chavarría and Georges Duriaux, host their guests personally. They also provide guides to go through the forest and its different trails. This reserve mainly welcomes birdwatching lovers. The establishment also has a dining room where delicious breakfasts, as well as Nicaraguan and foreigner recipes, are served.
Note:
Reservations in advance are required. The rates include lodging, food, entrance fee and a guided tour. Special rates are also available when booking for more than two nights or for large groups.
