I am a Limayense and I am so proud of it. The town can be a very pleasant place to release stress and forget about the hectic life most of us live in NY, people tend to be friendly and a bit nosy if you are new they treat you like royalty. If you are the type of person who loves nature and wants to experience mother nature one on one visit San Juan de Limay and you will.

Much love for my fellow Limayenses ;)

I stayed at MI Rancho with my daughter Molly and two faculty members from the college where I work, The Maryland Institute College of Art.. We were in Limay to prepare for a travel-study trip by faculty and students. I had been to Limay a number of times before and had attended a wedding party at Mi Rancho a few years ago. It was a surprise to learn that there were a series of small guest rooms. So in March of 2008 we spent three nights here. It was a great place, simple but very pleasant. The proprietor's wife cooked great meals at very reasonable prices. The only improvement would have been if they had stocked more beer . We were there on the week after Semana Santa where all of the towns beer had been drunk in celebrations. So we happily settled for rum and ice. In any case, I highly recommend this simple but warm and friendly pueblo hostal.

Even though I'm Nicaraguan, I've never been to Limay, Es. Nevertheless I've heard Limay is a quiet, cowboyish town, where people are still nice and friendly. I've also heard that it is the type of place where the locals still cook using traditional, organic methods. So I guess it's worth the trip.

    Later! :)

It was very nice at Mi Rancho. Specially the owner (propetario) Nestor Jarquin Pino. He is lying in his hammock the hole day! But its a friendly old man and he makes your stay at San Juan de Limay really special!

Description

It's a pleasant surprise to find this hotel in the little town of San Juan de Limay. There is not much tourism in this town, which makes a visit quiet and special. Don't expect tv and telephone in your room, but you will have a decent bed and bathroom (cold water though) available.

Mi Rancho also houses a restaurant and a dance floor. Breakfasts are served in the restaurant, so you don't need to go far to grab a bite. The hotel is small and everything is small-scale. Simple, but nice.
