Dolores

Dolores turns out to be Nicaragua's smallest municipality. It's almost entirely occupied by its urban center, which includes a pretty central park with lots of trees. This small town celebrates its religious festivities from May 1st to May 10th. Although it is frequently visited on January 19th, which is when the "Tope de los Santos" is held due to the festivities of Diriamba.

Getting There

The Panamerican Hihgway passes right next to the urban center of Dolores. The municipality is situated between the cities of Diriamba and Jinotepe, and you can easily get here by waling from either the tow cities, since it is located just one kilometer away from it. Another option is to take taxis and "caponeras" and "moto-taxis" (a recently developed way of transportation in the country). When in Managua, you can also take any of the buses traveling to Jinotepe and get off once you get to this city.
