La Conquista

The catholic devotion prevails in this rural municipality, known for having a small church with a statue of a black Christ. The territory also has a pond called "Posita del Señor de Esquipulas", which is famous for its supernatural healing benefits. The urban center of La Conquista is small and peaceful, except during the religious festivities, which are held right before Holy Week.

Getting There

You get to La Conquista after taking a road that connects it with Santa Teresa. The second town is reached after taking a detour (Southeast) on the Panamerican highway, between Jinotepe and Nandaime, and then you have to continue in direction to the coast. There is no direct connection with Managua, located 60 kilometers from it. Nevertheless, there are direct buses to Santa Teresa and the city of Jinotepe.
