Getting There
There is an unpaved road in the community of Cinco Pinos that will take you to San Pedro del Norte, which is connected to the city of Somotillo by a paved road. The town has a local bus with a daily service to Somotillo and Chinandega.
This municipality, located in the border with Honduras, is also known as San Pedro de Potrero Grande. Its center is the small town of the same name, which is surrounded by several villages. The daily routine is only interrupted by the traditional festivities, held on March 25th in honor of the 'Virgen de La Asunción'. There are other celebrations on June 29th, in honor of San Pedro and San Pablo. Several ponds, a waterfall and the 'Cordillera La Botija' can be found near the urban area.
