Description

The Nicaraguan Network of Rural Community Tourism (RENITURAL) is the first globally known national organization that focuses on strengthening and promoting rural community tourism.

Seventeen tourism initiatives work together with this association, allowing visitors to discover Nicaragua by establishing a direct contact with inhabitants of rural areas. All members organize sport, cultural and tourism activities to ensure the exchange of individual experiences.

Peasant cooperatives, cooperative unions, communal associations and indigenous people have learned to work in tourism without neglecting agricultural production activities. Their work aims to generate a source of income, guarantee that earnings stay in their municipalities and protect Nicaragua's cultural and natural heritage.

All tourism packages are classified in three areas. The first one is agritourism, with which the tour operator organizes excursions to farms, eco - shelters, cooperatives and inns, so that tourists can get to new the Nicaraguan rural environment. Culture is the second area, adventure tourism and nature watching comprise the third.
