Description
Founded in September 1985, the Quetzalcóatl Cooperative represents the artisans of San Juan de Oriente when it comes to selling Nicaraguan crafts. The association is composed by 17 members who make the finest pieces of this municipality.
Exhibiting their work in six museums of four Nordic countries has been one of the major accomplishments of this cooperative. All the pieces are known for their color and variety, which also represents the cultural and historical richness of the area.
One of the most interesting services of the cooperative is giving visitors the opportunity to make a Pre-Columbian craft. Their production and craft lessons allow these artisans to maintain their traditions alive.
