Telica Volcano - 2 Days

Description
The trip to the Telica Volcano begins at 10 AM. The adventure starts with a walk to the bus station (15 minutes) to take the chicken bus to San Jacinto (45 minutes).
Once we arrive at the San Jacinto Hot Springs, we will be able to see the boiling mud pools and later the hike starts! The first 50 minutes are medium steep. We will take a small brake to continue towards the volcano. In 50 minutes we will reach the beginning of the valley in between Telica and Santa Clara.
After another short brake, we walk through the valley to the mango tree to have lunch. After lunch, the last part to the top is rather steep. We are going to take some small brakes to catch breath. Arrival time to the top should be at 4 PM. Once we are at the summit, it's time to put up the tents, have a look at the crater and lava and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
To make the night more interesting and fun, a campfire is made, if possible. Next morning, activities begin at 5 AM to catch sunrise. Usually return time is at 7 AM, although there is no reason to hurry. The walk down is rather easy, and should take about 3 hours. It is a different way taken and chances on seeing beautiful birds are high! At last, we take the public transport back to Leon, where we will arrive at the hostel around 12 PM.

Tips and Practical Information
-Bring food, water (4-6 Liters), headlight or torch, insect repellent, sunscreen, raincoat, dry clothes.

-The hike takes around 4 hours up, so decent physical condition required.
