Description
Visit Volcán Masaya, one of Nicaragua's most active volcanoes, and get a view of the smoking crater. If you are lucky, you might even spot some of the green Parakeets (Chocoyo's) that call the Santiago crater their home. Next, head over to the town of Masaya, famous for its handicrafts and artists.
Walk through the market where you can buy all kinds of souvenirs and handicrafts - leather goods, ceramics, and paintings. Take a break for lunch at the romantic village of Catarina and enjoy the spectacular viewpoint over the huge crater lake of Apoyo.
