Description

Discover the importance of coffee for the people in communities who produce it and be part of the various activities that make our coffee among the best in the world.

During this tour we will visit a coffee cooperative where you can be part of the collection and pulping of coffee. Subsequently, you can see the process of fermentation and washing prior to the dry processing. Here you will learn about the economic and social benefits that this crop entails and we will address issues such as certifications, marketing, cooperatives and the environmental impacts of producing Nicaragua’s main export product.

At the home of a Nicaraguan campesino family we will enjoy a typical lunch and finish the tour with a delicious cup of coffee, made by one of the families that produces it.

Duration: 5 – 6 hours

Note: Coffee harvesting takes place from late October to February and sometimes early March. Out of this season the tour is still possible, however you will have some alternative activities.
