Description
Situated in a beautiful cloud forest and home to a wide variety of vegetation and wildlife, a visit to Mombacho Volcano is a great way for any nature lover to spend the day. Mombacho is an active volcano but the last eruption occurred in 1570. The highest regions of the volcano is home to a cloud forest and dwarf forest, which contains flora and fauna that are endemic purely to the volcano. An increasingly popular tourist attraction, the volcano has fantastic views of Lake Nicaragua and the city of Granada. There are more than 700 different plants registered around Mombacho, including many species of orchids.
We will drive to the top (1344 meters) of the volcano in a 4x4 vehicle. After a quick trip to the scientific station you will explore this impressive volcano on a guided walk. The well-kept Crater Trail (1.5 km) leads you around the crater through dense cloud forest. Stop at some fumaroles (an opening in a planet's crust, often in the neighborhood of volcanoes) and enjoy spectacular views overlooking Granada, Las Isletas, Laguna de Apoyo and the Masaya Volcano. Be sure to keep an eye out for the howler and white face monkeys as well as the endemic Mombacho salamander, found nowhere else in the world except here.

See the nature from a bird's eye perspective; zip through the treetops as you go from platform to platform ranging in height from 10 to 100 feet above the canopy floor. Cancellations made at with more than 1 month before the day of arrival will not incur any penalties.

Cancellations made with less than 1 month before arrival day, the following percentages will be charged, besides the initial payment if the reservation is cancelled:

7 days - 48 hours: 50 %
Less than 48 hours or in case of no-use of the reserved service: 100%
