Recently visited the museum and absolutely loved it. The UCA students that went with us were amazing and very proud to show off their country. I am familiar with Ruben Dario. As a Spanish major in university, I read his poetry when we did a course on Latin American History and Culture.

Description

When Rubén Darío was only 40 days old, he moved to the colonial city of León. The famous poet lived there for 14 years, and the house where he lived has been turned into a museum in 1964.

The building still holds its colonial atmosphere, with an inner courtyard at the center and the rooms around it. The house has been decorated according to the colonial style as well, giving it even more of a colonial touch.

Here, the life and history of Rubén Darío has been portrayed on the walls. Some of his belongings are on display, including his bed, his bible, and some of his writings. The items are set up in several rooms, and the museum is well maintained by a university of the city (the UNAN).
