Description

The completely uncrowded beach of Playa San Diego, which is where the Milagro del Mar Resort is also located, provides ideal spots for surfing, which benefits from over 250 days of offshore winds that come from Lake Nicaragua.

Punto San Diego and Asuchillo Beach (five minutes away) are two of the most renowned sites in Nicaragua. The first one, described as a world class surfing destination, is a hollow, super fast left point breaking over a shallow reef that works well on a high tide. Meanwhile, Asuchillo works with swell, almond-shaped barrels. This break is fun for all surfing abilities, from experienced to beginners.

Generally, surfing classes in this area are given in two hour periods. The students are divided in the following:

In addition, one can rent a great variety of surf and boogie boards. Prices vary from US$25 (full day) to US$15 (half day). Boogie board rental is US$10.
