This beautifully colored frog, measuring only between 3 and 4 centimeters, secretes a poisonous substance to deter predators (not lethal to humans). The frogs eat small insects. Other color variations, including yellow-black and blue-black, have also been observed.
Habitat
Green and Black Poison Dart Frogs need high humidity and lush vegetation. They are common at the Caribbean side of Nicaragua.
