Bill horn; conspicuous bare white eye-ring. Green with red forecrown; bend of wing and lesser under wing-coverts red, bordering behind by yellow greater coverts (flashing conspicuously red and yellow under the wing in flight); underside of flight feathers and tail yellowish olive.
Habits and Behavior
An adaptable parakeet, found mostly in forest or woodland borders, and in partially or even mostly cleared areas. Regularly roosts in groves near houses and even in some towns. Quite noisy, with loud screeching calls, keerr, keerr, given especially in flight and at roosting sites.
