Bill mostly yellowish horn; bare ocular area dull pinkish. Forecrown and patch on throat white; remainder of head, neck, and chest greenish blue; upperparts otherwise mostly green, with wing-coverts edged and spotted buff; breast and belly dark gree, feathers somewhat edged blue; under tail-coverts and base of tail red. Female usually somewhat duller than male.
Habits and Behavior
Similar to Blue-headed Parrot. Like that species, very noisy, with the usual flight call a raucous krreeck, krreeck, krreeck... (Ridgely). Has a very deep wing-stroke, even deeper than that of Blue-head.
