Description
This small bat is common throughout Central America and into northern South America. Unlike many other bat species, they roost in the open, usually on tree trunks leaning over the water. These bats forage for small insects, usually just over water.
Habitat
They are often seen in a line along a tree, but they might go unnoticed until they take off, because their grizzled fur serves surprisingly well as camouflage.
