Had a wonderful weekend here a few months ago and plan to return very soon. If you're looking for a quiet, secluded, CLEAN beach, this is the best one I've seen in Nicaragua so far. Not much to do, but there is a little bar/restaurant on the beach where the food is good and the beer is cold.

Lovely beach, rocky instead of shelly. Not a bad thing because these beautiful rocks have been polished a gazillian times as the surf washes in and out. Some construction of luxury homes is going on, which is a good thing. But the surrounding hills muffle any noise except that of the waves. Quiet and natural.

Practical information:
Have in mind that the road you will take is unpaved. So, getting there during the winter might be complicated. We recommend to travel on a high clearance vehicle, but the road is suitable for both types.

Getting There

Private transportation:
First, you must get to San Juan del Sur. After reaching the town, take the road on the right that has a sign that indicates the name of the beach.

Public transportation:
It is not possible to get there on public transportation. Instead, negotiate an affordable rate with the cabs that you will find at the municipal market.
