It would be very much fun to go there to that beach. We are going to go to Nicaragua in less than a week.I am lookin forward to that. It's my first time being out of the country!

My wife and I have been to Hawaii and Costa Rica, etc. and found Las Penitas and especially the beach in front of the Playa Roca Beach Hotel, one of the best we have ever been to. The volcanic rock formations with the waves crashing into them on one side and a super safe swimming and boogie boarding bay-like configuration on the other. Great hotel to kick back and see it all right in front of you. Even got to see some of my favorite sports teams on their Sports Bar set up, unique for around here.

Las Penitas is wonderful! I recently spent a month staying here, and it was an amazing experience. The people here are so friendly & welcoming. The locals are more than happy to share the best surf spots & tips, and on the weekends there is always a fun party for the whole town! Only a 30 minutes bus ride to beautiful Leon, Las Penitas is the perfect mix of being rural, yet close to everything you need. Lots of hotels & delicious food! Plus, fresh fish available every morning at the river if you get there early enough!
