How was the Cultural Center PAC born?

One of the leading figures of vanguardismo in Central America: the Nicaraguan poet, journalist, novelist, painter and essayist Pablo Antonio Cuadra (Managua, 1912-2002), with the CEO of Hispamer, Jesus of Santiago, kept long conversations about the need to have a place in Managua where the arts and education could converge without having to charge a single penny to the artists. From this idea, Mr. de Santiago was committed to Pablo Antonio Cuadra to make this dream come true, so in December 2013, Hispamer founded what was once the desire of Nicaraguan artist.

Cultural management

One of the main objectives of this center is to create spaces where activities and support citizenship projects are developed, without distinction of any kind (racial, religious, physical, sexual, generational, ideological, etc). These dynamics are focused on education, arts and culture.

For this reason, the PAC offers the opportunity to both national and international artists to create their own event where they can promote their works, ideas, projects, etc. From these activities is where the Cultural Weekly Agenda is created, which always takes place in the Auditorium, from Monday to Friday at 6:30 pm, and also on Saturdays, but this day schedule varies.
In most of these events entry is free!

How to present your artistic proposal?

The PAC's vision is to promote and support artists, mainly Nicaraguans, therefore, it has a policy of sponsorship for artists that present innovative and high-quality cultural projects.

First of all, the artist has to contact the PAC through this number: 22781210, and then ask to communicate with secretariat of the cultural center, so he/she can bring his/her proposal. This is evaluated by the Coordination Team.

Once approved, the PAC is in charge to provide:

1. The space for this activity
2. Resources such as audio, lights and visual projection
3. Support staff in areas of graphic design, public relations and event presentation

This support is accomplished through funding from Hispamer Bookstore, as part of its cultural commitment. However, if the artist needs specialized equipment for such activity, he/she must get it on their own.

It is recommended that the artist put forward his/her proposal a month in advance, as the agenda of the PAC is always very active and full of events.

Getting There

If you go by bus, you just have to take any of these bus routes that passes by Universidad Centroamericana (UCA): 120, 110, 105, 119, 195, 210, 103, 114, 102, 168, 117 or 111, and then get off the bus at UCA bus station. From here, you walk two blocks east, and then 100 meters south.

Or if you come from "the old Managua": from the roundabout Ruben Dario, 1 block west and 1 block south.

The PAC is two blocks east from UCA. You don't have to worry about the parking lot because the PAC has a large one!
