Casa Estelí is a tourist center located in the city of Estelí, right at the Pan American highway, where national and international tourists can obtain information about interesting destinations in the northern part of Nicaragua. The center also offers handicrafts for sale, made from different materials and brought from different parts of this region.
The place is air conditioned and very accessible. A small internet café is also available within the same building (open during regular business hours). Employees of Casa Estelí attend the public in another area, where they provide information about ecological, historical, and cultural destinations in the departments of Estelí, Nueva Segovia, and Madriz.
In the same part of the building a variety of objects made in the region is displayed, including t-shirts, key rings, and other souvenirs, as well as products made by regional micro-companies and countrymen.
Next to this information room there is a small exposition and sale of handicrafts. These objects also come from throughout the different northern departments of Nicaragua, and they are available in a large variety of shapes, made from different materials including clay, wood, soapstone, leather, and cob. There is furthermore a room where paintings are frequently exposed, made by artists of this region.
It is very easy to get here, since it is located in the Panamerican highway. After reaching the monument of the 100 years of the city, turn South and continue for about 20 minutes.
