Description
Presenting a part of "Carlos Martinez Rivas, return" of the poetry magazine "Años Diez", by the writer Sergio Ramirez Mercado.
Carlos Martinez Rivas (Guatemala City, October 12, 1924 - Managua, June 16, 1998). Was a Nicaraguan poet of much literary character. His poetry, originality, simplicity, consistency, accurate language proficiency, deliberate rejection of the imposture of the "vast plastic world, super modeled and void", imagination and unparalleled beauty in Nicaraguan literature, is comparable only to Ruben Dario or Salomon de la Selva. The meaning and poetic sensibility of the work of Carlos Martinez Rivas permanent deserved admiration and respect and has undergone rigorous diverse and critical judgments in which his poetic genius attributed a significant influence and teaching in Latin American and Spanish poetry. He was alone the last years of his life by personal commitment.
