Exchange between rural touristic initiatives located in the path to the Cerro Negro September 25th and 26th.
Next September 25th and 26th, in León, an exchange meeting will be organized as part of the project Strengthening of the touristic value chain of the Natural Reserve and Volcanic Complex Las Pilas-El Hoyo, financed by The Colonial and Volcanoes Route (with funds from the European Union and the Nicaraguan Government, through INTUR with the technical support of LuxDev).
The event will gather 26 touristic initiatives of rural entrepreneurs from the municipalities of León and Larreynaga as well as tour operators for two days, in order to drive a sustainable community tourism and to strengthen the touristic offer of the area.
The main objective of the exchange of experiences is that the different initiatives located in the area of the National Park Natural Reserve and Volcanic Complex Las Pilas-El Hoyo meet with each other and start creating touristic packages together. The organizing team also wants community entrepreneurs to bond with tour operators so that those ones will include the new touristic offer in the tours they offer to tourists.
The project Strengthening of the touristic value chain of the Natural Reserve and Volcanic Complex Las Pilas-El Hoyo has a total budget of 250,020€ and is implemented by the Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo (ECODES), the municipality of León, the municipality of Larreynaga, UNAN-León and the Cooperative Pilas-El Hoyo.
It has two main objectives:
