Peru celebrates film and gastronomic festival

Independence celebrations for the two events will be develop in Managua.

From Monday 25th to Friday 29th of July, the Embassy of Peru in Nicaragua is developing the II Peruvian Film Festival and the II Gastronomic Festival in commemoration of the 195 Anniversary of its National Independence, Paulo Zárate, head of the Consular Section reported.

To promote the image of Peru through its film production, today will be the official opening of the Film Festival (the first edition appeared in 2008), with the presentation of the award-winning Peruvian film "Magallanes" with a complimentary cocktail for those who attend. The entrance to the Festival is free and will take place in the "Alianza Francesa's Theater" of Managua, which has a capacity for about 250 people.

Zárate told to ViaNica.com that "the Peruvian film production is going through a gender revolution with a growing number of filmmakers who take advantage of the tastes of the local audience to find funding and exhibit their films in theaters of national and international cinemas. Thus, in recent years the Peruvian film production is between 10 and 20 films a year. "

Following with the events, on Tuesday July 26 will open the II Food Festival attended by senior officials from Nicaragua, diplomatic corps and members of the Peruvian community, privately. And from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29, the Nicaraguan public can enjoy its renowned cuisine in the Holiday Inn restaurant, at lunch and dinner times, thanks to the contribution of the chef Eric Vera from Peru.
