Mountain biking in Ometepe on Juin

On line registration available for the volcanic island MTB adventure.
Ometepe Island, which is the most accessible Biosphere Reserve in Central America and is formed by volcanoes Concepción and Maderas, will be the scenario for the next major mountain biking competition to be held in Juin 2017.
The MTB El reto de la isla (Challenge on the island) will have 2 circuits of 40 and 50 kilometers. Competitors will choice the length according to their athletic abilities, in this nature challenging adventure.
On Juin 25, the starting point will be Charco Verde Hotel, located in the southern shores within a zone full of local legends and beautiful sunsets. From there, bikers will take the rural path (humids during the raining season) and will continue by the clear sand of Santo Domingo beach.
Circuits will drive competitors to the northern beach in front of Finca San Juan de la Isla and will continue, always by rural paths, reaching the Ojo de Agua, a mineral water spring. Circuits will end on the same starting point.

Participants will need to get to the island from (at least) Saturday, Juin 24, by the boats and ferries departing from Jan Jorge port in mainland.
