II Central American Cinema and Video Festival

With a double intention to realize a real cultural exchange between Central Americans and to celebrate the XX anniversary of the Foundation of the Nicaraguan Association of Cinematographic (ANCI), on the 28th and 31st of March there will be held II Central American Cinema and Video Festival with free presentations in different cities of the country.This year the festival will have the slogan “Uniting friends”. It presents a big variety of topics and genres by producers from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
The presentations will start on the 29th and will be hold simultaneous in the cities of Granada (Casa de los Tres Mundos and Convento San Francisco), Managua (Cinemateca Nacional, Instituto Nicaragüense de Cultura Hispánica, Parque Histórico Loma de Tiscapa) and León (Alianza Francesa).
The first festival was celebrated two years ago as a show of regional movies and videos produced 14 years ago. In this age the slogan was “A look a tour times”, according to Fernando Somarraba, director of ANCI.
