XIII International Theatre Festival

From next Sunday 23 of September until Sunday 30, there will take place the “XIII International Festival of Theatre: Monologues, Dialogues and More, Nicaragua 2007” in the city of Managua. Theatre groups from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Spain and Nicaragua are presenting their works.

As every year, the theatre works are presented in Sala de Teatro Justo Rufino Garay (located next to the Park Las Palmas, from Montoya 3 blocks east, 15 meters north), headquarter of the company with the same name, organizers of the event. The presentations begin daily at 7:30 PM and the entrance fee is C$80.

At 9:00 PM after every Festival night, there will be a free show of various artists at the house Justo Rufino Garay. This year there will play Clara Grün, Performance Jessica Hirts, Juan Solórzano, Salvador Cardenal, Mike Cotina and Ramón Mejía (Perrosompopo)

Every year the festival is dedicated to an important Nicaraguan personality, this year it is devoted to Evelyn Martínez, for her long work in different arts. Another detail of the current festival is the exposition at the lobby of the house by the group Estragos.

Beside the presentations in the official house, there will be free show at the Universidad Nacional Agraria (Tuesday 25, 5 PM), at the Centro Cultural Batahola (Wednesday 26, 5 PM), the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua (Thursday 27, 4 PM), the Universidad Centroamericana (Thursday 27, 4 PM) and at the Park Las Palmas (Sunday 30, 4 PM).
