French mime visits Nicaragua

The French artist, Jean Bernard Laclotte, mime, actor, professor of body expression and theater director, is currently touring Central America. He has been in Nicaragua since the begining of the month fulfilling a series of workshop programs, conferences with the students of the National School of Theater, and a performance in the play "Voyage" (The journey), which will be presented at Managua and Granada.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, June 16 at Rubén Darío National Theater, the artist explained that "Voyage" is a presentation in which he will wear several costumes and will transmit a lot of emotions. In fact, in one of the segments he will interact with the audience. The performance in Granada will be held today, June 18 at 7:00 pm at Casa de los Tres Mundos. The other presentation will be on Tuesday, June 30 at the national theater.

Jean Bernard Laclotte was born in the city of Burdeos, France. He started his artistic studies in Perú with classic, contemporary and Kabuki (Japanese) dance and also studied at the school of the renowned mime Marcel Marceau. According to Laclotte, he plans to live in Nicaragua, in the city of San Juan de Oriente (Masaya), a town that he really liked. He also wants to create a pantomime school in the country.
