The championship of surfing, organized by several tourism companies, concluded in the 'Los Limones' beach in the department of Rivas.Two Nicaraguans were also mentioned during the award ceremony because they showed their capacity to compete with athletes from Costa Rica and United States.
The beaches of Tola and San Juan del Sur, in the South Pacific and the Salinas Grandes and Puerto Sandino beaches in the Northwest Pacific are known for their good waves that sometimes reach a height of five meters.
