Expo Ometepe Fair 2010

Róger Solórzano CanalesFolkloric dances, theater plays, poetry recitals, concerts, a triathlon competition and dozens of stands related to culture, nature and tourism services of Ometepe island will be part of the Expo Ometepe Fair 2010. The activity will be held in the city of Altagracia, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29, as a celebration of the nomination of the island as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO.
The event will start tomorrow, at 10:00 am, in the central park of Altagracia (North side of the island), where the expositors and scenarios will be placed. Cultural presentations and an environmental carnival (1:00 pm) by students of the island will be part of the program. The official act will start at 2:30 pm.
At 4:30 pm, there will be another cultural show that will include theater plays and concerts by local students. The day will end with the performance of national artists such as Phillip Montalbán and Keyla Rodríguez.
On Sunday morning, there will be a clown show and different cultural presentations by local artists. The cultural evening will start at noon, with folkloric dances, a magic show and a concert by William Calderon, followed by the band Monroy & Surmenage and Revuelta Sonora.
The triathlon will begin at 8:30 am on Sunday 28 and will have five categories. There swimming competition will start by the lake, it will continue with the cycling and foot race on the highway that leads to Altagracia, where the award act will take place.
