Fifteen Nicaraguan groups will be part of the Ninth Season of Choral Music, a series of annual concerts that are organized by the Ruben Dario National Theater. The activity started on Sunday, September 19, and will continue during the week until its closing event, scheduled for Sunday, October 3rd.

Juan Manuel Mena, Director of the National Choir of Nicaragua and other groups, explained that the event aims to show the work that national choirs are developing. "We want to promote this kind of music, which is little known in the country and it's generally related to churches," he said.

Mena also informed that besides the opening and the closing concerts, there will be other performances during the week (September 20 to 25). All of them will start at 7:00 pm and will take place at the Crystal Salon of the national theater. The tickets will cost C$50 for these presentations.

The groups performing during this season will be the following: Coro Voces Pro Tempore of the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA), Discantus Choir of Universidad Católica de Nicaragua (UNICA), National Choir of Nicaragua, Grupo Lirico de Nicaragua, Cantico Nuevo Choir, Barajón Dominguez Choir, among others.
