Second International Salsa Congress in Nicaragua

Cinthia MembreñoTeachers from Holland, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Canada will be part of the second edition of the International Salsa Congress of Nicaragua. The event will be held at Crown Plaza Hotel (Managua), on Friday, October 15th. It will include parties, dance classes and the opportunity to share experiences with other participants.
Jurgen Visser, Dutch instructor of Cuban Salsa, explained that the event is organized in order promote this kind of dance. "Generally, people know how to dance Merengue and Bachata but not Salsa that much. It's necessary to study to dance it better," he said.
According to the program of activities, the congress will start on October 15th at, 6:00 pm, with the registration process, followed by a welcome party for participants. The next day will start with five hours of workshops and a dance party at night. On the third day, October 17th, classes will continue until the closing event.
According to Visser, 80 participants were registered in 2009. This year, organizers expect more than 100 people. Registrations can be made in Gimnasio Ilusiones (Managua) or the day of the event. The US$50 fee guarantees the entrance to the parties, workshops and two meals provided by the hotel. For further information, go to our Events Calendar.
