Cinthia MembreñoKerfodermo, national rock band, will inaugurate this Friday, February 18th, a new cultural center for art and music in the city of Managua. The event, which entrance is for free, will start at 6:00 pm and will include a concert with songs from the latest album of the band, entitled "Medio Visual".
Joaquín Vargas, producer of the album, said that the inauguration of Musik Wearhouse (name of the establishment) is part of a project that started in 2008, the year in which the band was created. "This is the natural evolution of a greater project. It started with the band, then we opened a recording studio and now the cultural center. It is a way of promoting culture, creating spaces so we can express our art without strings attached or external financial support," he said.
According to Vargas, Musik Wearhouse is available for every band or artist who wants to perform there. The establishment is divided in three areas: cafe, art gallery and a space for concerts. There are eleven presentations scheduled so far for 2011, whether it is by Kerfodermo or other national bands. However, the owners invite all artists to contact the band so they can organize more events.
The cultural center will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 2:00 am. In addition, breakfast (nacatamal, Nicaraguan traditional meal) will be served starting at 5:00 am during weekends. Musik Wearhouse is located in Carretera a Masaya (Delta building, 1/2 blocks East). For further info about this event, go to our calendar.
