The fourth edition of the Nicaraguan International Jazz Festival will include three days of concerts, workshops and lectures given by groups from Spain, United States, Germany, France and Nicaragua. The inauguration of the event will be held on March 3rd, at 7:00 pm, in the Ruben Dario National Theater. The entrance fee for it will cost C$50.

According to a press release given by the organizers of the event, this international activity started on 2008 to give a performing space for the best students of Ramai Das, founder and director of the festival. "(Later) it became an important event of the Nicaraguan cultural calendar, and it stands out for the quality of the international and national bands."

In addition to the first concert, there will also be another one in the Handicrafts Market of Masaya on Friday, March 4th. The bands Aviva Jazz, Two Five Jazz, Gerald Trío (Nicaragua) and Jeff Gardner Trío (USA) will participate on it. The closing event will be held at the French Alliance (Managua) with a free performance by the groups H2O, MP3, Jazzteto, String Jazz, TkJazz, Jazz'ta (Nicaragua), Mezcal Jazz Unit (France) and Frederik Köster Quartett (Germany).

On the other hand, the workshops and classes will be given exclusively to nacional musicians at the Bansbach Academy of Music (Altamira, Managua). The meetings will begin on March 1st, at 2:00 pm, with a piano class given by Jeff Gardner (New York, USA) and will continue until Saturday, March 5th, when the French group Mezcal Jazz Unit gives a final lecture.
