Nicaraguan International Tourism Fair in May
Róger Solórzano Gaitán | Apr 26, 2011
The second edition of the Nicaraguan International Tourism Fair (Fenitur) will be held in Managua on Friday, May 27 and Saturday 28. Its goal is to seek for better opportunities for Nicaragua within the global tourism market.
Organizers expect the arrival of worldwide travel agencies from the Unites States, Canada, Europe, South America and Central America, which will meet with 150 expositors from national tourism companies that cannot travel abroad.
The fair, which will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel, will feature a private business encounter between travel agencies and local expositors, in addition to trips to the most renowned Nicaraguan destinations. On the second day, the fair will open its doors to everyone, and will display the most important offers and information about the country's many destinations.
Mario Salinas, president of the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (INTUR), explained that Nicaragua received a million tourist in 2010, and pretends to increase that number this year. Lucy Valenti, president of the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR), said that this will be achieved by strengthening offers related to new tourism products, such as surfing beaches.
The activity is organized by AC Eventos, as a public/private initiative, in which CANATUR (as the private sector) and INTUR (as a State entity). Link to this fair: www.fenitur.com.ni.
