Promoting Nicaragua as an international tourism destination is one of the goals of the Second Nicaraguan Tourism Fair (FENITUR). The event, which will be held on May 27th and 28th at the conventions center of Hotel Crown Plaza (Managua), will have the presence of more than 40 international tourism agencies. The activity will also have the participation of national expositors, who will give information about Nicaragua's many tourism destinations.

According to the website of the fair, the private business meeting will be held on Friday, May 27th, which is when the international tourism agencies and the national companies will establish commercial agreements. On the next day, at 9:00 am, the convention center of the hotel will open its door to national and foreigners wishing to know about Nicaragua's tourism destinations and the different packages that are offered to reach them.

FENITUR is a private-public initiative, organized by the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR) and the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (INTUR). Its purpose is to give an opportunity to tourism companies, so they can talk about their products with international enterprises. Representatives from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Venezuela, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica and El Salvador, in addition to a group of journalists who work in specialized tourism magazines and newspapers, will attend the event.

The first edition of FENITUR was held on June 2010. Twenty four international tourism agencies attended this event. This year, the number increased to 37. All of them, except for one, are visiting the fair for the first time, which means that there will be even more possibilities for commercial relationships. These visitors will also have the chance to go to the departments of Leon, Masaya, Rivas and Rio San Juan, to get to know first hand the most renowned Nicaraguan destinations.
